Liw Bringelson, PhD CEMT
Liw (short for "Liwana") has been a horse person her whole life. Her educational background includes studies in human factors, ergonomics, social psychology and engineering. For over the last 20 years she has been interested in how people can use systems safely, efficiently and effectively. Finding Quiet Equine continues these objectives, integrating the engineering problem-solving approach with an intuitive, listening approach to observing and working with the horses.
Dr. Bringelson earned a PhD from Purdue University in Industrial Engineering and cognitive human factors in 1991 and subsequently worked as a university faculty member in US and Canada. By 2008, she chose to combine the systematic problem-solving and research approach with her love and interest in horses. Her training at Prairie Winds College of Equine Massage included equine anatomy, pathology, movement, natural horsemanship, massage and business.
Liw's practice is located in the southern Ontario horse country in/around Simcoe and Grey counties, especially around the Georgian Triangle (Collingwood, Thornbury, Orangeville) area, although she is frequently in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Guelph area, so is able to schedule barn days in that region, too.
She continues to study and look for new information which will help her provide effective treatments for her clients, the horses. Recent topics include:
